What a bunch of cruel people there are on DA. I now feel I should delete most of my photomanipulations from DA. I didn't realize that a thousand stock artists hate my pictures and find them boring since I use horses in them. I won't be participating in the Create by Week challenges ever again. Thank God the ones I submitted in the past didn't have any horses in them, resulting in CbW viewers getting sick all over their computers. There are lots of pictures on DA that I'm not particularly fond of either, many of them also using the same themes over and over again; but I would never tell the artists that I hate their work. They enjoy creating their pictures. Why should I ruin everything for them by stomping their work into the ground.

wow... They didn't really tell anyone they hated their work- just calling for some creative thinking! I mean, really. It's a field. How many entries would be coming in with horses in the field, all looking basically the same, if they hadn't said that? The fact that you took that so personally kinda sounds like YOU think you have too many pictures of horses! Lighten up!

Yes, I totally agree with you; I shouldn't have replaced the stock provider's "I'm sick of seeing them [i.e., pictures of horses]" with the word "hate."

I suppose I took added offense just because recently I came across a stock provider's site that totally disallowed the inclusion of horses ever when using any of her stock, not because she was angry with ponybox folks using her stock without credit, but because she couldn't stand seeing any more horse pictures on DA. I thought I was doing okay with my little fantasy pictures of horses, and didn't understand why my choice of themes was being censured when all the other overused themes were okay. But now I know that lots of other people, including the thousand stock artists, are tired of seeing my horse pictures here, too.

Horses have been my whole life until, because of medical problems, I can no longer ride or drive them, or even lead or brush them. So, no, I wouldn't ever tire of adding horse pictures to my gallery because it's the only connection I have left for me to still enjoy them.

It would have been so nice had you announced, instead, "Hey, folks, we're going to require something totally original for this challenge. So no horses or dragons, gothic women pining for their lost loves, balloons, flying scarves, swings, fairies, or elves. Instead, let's see all the unusual objects and ideas you can come up with to enhance this required stock photo!"

Life's not good for me. I apologize for overreacting.

Does that include fantasy equine creatures, like unicorn, Pegasus, centaur, etc?

Normally the last thing I would think to put in the field, seriously, would be a horse. But since you told us we can't, that's all that comes to mind! LOL
